About Chicken On Rice
Best Hainan Chicken with ginger rice and ginger sauce in Huntington Beach
Located at 19072 Beach Blvd Ste F, Huntington Beach, CA 92648, Chicken On Rice operates as a restaurant serving Huntington Beach in California. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
This group covers the non-Asian restaurants, cafes, bars and food businesses that also appear in a mixed-cuisine food scene, including American diners, pizza, Mexican food, burgers, steakhouses and bakeries. Standard US restaurant norms apply: lunch and dinner service with a quieter stretch between, cards and tap-to-pay accepted almost everywhere, and a tip of 15-20% customary for table service. Fast food and quick-service counters expect payment up front and tipping is optional. Bars check ID for anyone who looks under 30, and the drinking age is 21 nationwide. Many restaurants in this group take reservations online through third-party platforms, while casual and fast-food spots are walk-in only. Sales tax is added at the register on top of the menu price and varies by city and state, so the final total is usually a few percent higher than the posted prices suggest.

I stopped in recently and was genuinely impressed. I ordered the chicken katsu and steamed chicken combo, and both were excellent. The portions were generous, the food came out surprisingly fast, and the prices felt very reasonable for the quality and amount of food you get. The highlight for me was definitely the ginger sauceβit added so much flavor and tied everything together perfectly. The chicken was cooked well, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The service also deserves recognition. The gentleman working there was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. As for the drinks, the green Thai tea wasnβt really that good , and the regular Thai tea was just okay. That said, the food more than made up for it and is what Iβd come back for. Overall, this is a spot Iβd happily recommend. Great food, fair prices, quick service, and genuinely kind people running the place.

What a surprisingly great experience! I discovered this little gem in a strip mall/shopping center recently. I'm usually a little apprehensive about trying new places to eat. This did not disappoint! Greeted by the owner(major points), he assisted me with the ordering process (touch screen display, super user-friendly). The menu is not complicated and I was able to select what I was looking for right away. I chose a teriyaki chicken plate and opted for the ginger rice (excellent decision), which came with a small soup/broth, and a petite green salad. I decided to add a Thai tea as I needed a little refreshing energy boost. This came right away and the food followed shortly after. The plate looked post-worthy and the portions were just right as it turns out. The chicken was cooked to perfection, the rice was delicious, moist, and flavorful. The light soup was great with a hint of flavor, and the salad very fresh. I actually could not finish it all and took my leftovers to go. Overall, a wonderful, enjoyable experience in what appeared to be a family-run establishment. I would not hesitate to go back.

Delicious food. The owner is very friendly and accommodating. If you get takeout, be ready to be impressed. The presentation in their Beautiful little box Is a surprise. And they play the most beautiful Easy listening music.

Ordered takeaway from this quaint Thai chicken rice shop. Friendly service and personable owners. The Hainan chicken a little dry (maybe can cook shorter time) but still good; crisp fresh salad (no brown on leaves), mild ginger rice goes well with the chicken. The crispy chicken was crunchy and flavorful, but not oily. But the unsung hero is the lowly chicken broth which was bursting with flavor, completed the meal. Portions ample and prices reasonable. Clean and neat place. Will definitely be back! PS. Nice packing and meal presentation of the takeout box!
